WEEK 8 Online culture and communication

Nowadays, the way of communication changed a lots. I think it is totally different from these days and 20 years ago. In the lesson, professor mentioned that there are some evaluation in communication tools. From letters to telephones, from telephone to sms texting. For me, i love sms texting because we don't need to have face-to-face communication. But i think the evaluation in communication tools actually brings some disadvantages.
When i was young, i used to write letter to my friends. (which is encouraged by my chinese teachers) Of course, writing letters cannot get response quickly. However, the conversation in letter is more trustful, and we will write only to someone we know. Although the process of conversation is long, it really help build a relationship of trust and solidarity. It is because writing a letter can also give a feeling of seriousness. So, we better write a love letter than send a love message.
   Here's a song to share.

This Letter P.S I Still love You

With the influence of online culture, people enjoy communication conveniently. That;s why nowadays we use sms texting. As it is convenient, we sometimes send a lot of meaningless message. I am also the one do so. Sometimes when i feel bored, i will send some symbols, like :), to my friends. i would say this is nowadays' culture, a kind of communication culture. In fact, this cannot help build up relationship between people. But teenagers are willing to send this message all the times, even when they are doing others things.
Here's a funny video.

To conclude, building up a relationship require us to pay effort on it. We have to be trustful in our communication with others. Although the convenient communication tools make us feel that the conversation is  less serious, we still need to be serious when we are having conversation with our friends!

a summary post but not the last post!

REFLECTION:

My blogging experience:

Times run fast. Two months is past. Before i take this courses, i have not been written blog for 3 years. (the last time was using xanga) It is quite strange for me to write a blog, especially for learning. In secondary school, after a lesson, i will just read the notes and book again and again. I seldom have a reflection on what i've learnt and never share this to others. It may be because i will feel shy when i do so. But after i have been forced to do this in this course, the feeling is actually good because i can interact with others after lessons. In my past learning life, i only got the chance to hear teacher's opinions. But though the blogs, i can hear every classmates' opinions and their thinking about the topics. I love this brainstorming as it can help me to think the topic widely and deeply. It help me develop critical thinking. Thank you all the classmates to share your opinions! It helps me a lots!

But i have to sorry to all of you, as i have some personal issues, i can't attend the lesson and write the blog in recent weeks. But i really enjoy to do so, and love reading your blogs to know what have you learnt in lessons! It makes me feel i have participate in lesson. Thank you all!

Why i have chosen the sample post

I would choose the sample post Visual design in 3D. There are several reasons for choosing this post.

First, i really enjoy the lesson about visual design (lesson 4). It brings me many reflection. Before the lesson, i have never pay attention to the design of any webpage. I didn't notice the webpages are getting more and more user-friendly. In fact, designers pay a lot of efforts on it. During the lesson, professor told us how the webpage with hyperlinking can be helpful and their organization. After that, when i browse on internet, i will appreciate the design of the webpage. The lesson changed my mind a lots.

Besides, i also have reflection on the topic. I have mentioned in the post, i am looking forward to seeing the 3D visual design. It is also my little suggestion and recommondation. I hope my opinion can share with you and can stimulate your thinking about visual design.

Online culture and communication

In fact, I didn’t know much information about online culture in the past because I didn’t use computer and I think it was very boring to sit in front of a machine. However, I spend a lot of time work with computer since it’s vitally important to my life nowadays. And I need to use most of time to surf the net to search information and I find that online culture is quite interesting.

In the real world, we need to take care of what we are talking about while in the internet, some people always talk some silly things impolitely. Why is there a such difference? It is because in the virtual world, we can hide our identities and that means people don’t who we are. So, people can talk something they like and blame on something they don’t like frequently. We can commonly find that there are a lot of people blaming on each other in the internet.

Apart from that, since there are different people surfing the net, we can easily get information from all over the world compared to the past. And we can communicate with different people with different countries in different forums now. We can know more about their culture, for examples, climate, living conditions, and landmark. This is the reason why I love to make new friends in the internet. And this is one type of online culture. Do you like it?

Visual design in 3D

After having the lesson in week4, i learn more about visual design. It is talking about how to design the website or picture in order to make it more attractive to visitors! They may use some pictures or various size of letters. At that time, i just though how about using 3D, which is a popular technology in this day, to attract people's attention. Here is a poster, talking about in taiwan, there is some courses to teach people using 3D in visual design. It is hoped this will also come to hong kong. I think it can make the poster more attractive, and i hoped  that when this really come to hong kong, i can share the attractive 3D posters to all of you.
